As OKC film photographer who does not share her film much, I wanted to do a film dump from some of my recent weddings and some personal family film!
While I don’t exclusively photograph weddings on film, it has become one of my favorite wedding day rituals to shoot at least 2 rolls of film to give the final gallery a timeless flare.
Over the past eight years as a wedding photographer now based in Oklahoma City, I’ve captured countless beautiful moments with digital photography. But recently, I’ve started incorporating 35mm film into my workflow, and it’s completely transformed the way I approach my work. Film has allowed me to slow down, create images with depth, and offer my couples something truly timeless.
35mm film is a traditional photographic format, 35 millimeters wide, that has been a standard for film cameras for decades. Unlike digital images, film has a unique texture, rich colors, and a nostalgic quality that I can’t replicate with digital technology.
I don’t see digital and film as competing mediums—they complement each other beautifully. Digital allows me to capture fast-moving moments and wide shots, while film is perfect for those intimate, emotional shots that feel more raw and personal. After the wedding, I blend both mediums to create a cohesive gallery that’s rich, varied, and memorable.
Choosing a photographer who works with both digital and film means you’re getting something special—images that aren’t just technically perfect but emotionally resonant. Film brings a soulfulness to photos that you’ll treasure forever. It’s an investment in capturing your wedding day with depth, authenticity, and a timeless quality.
Film photography isn’t just a trend for me—it’s a creative choice that allows me to give my couples something truly unforgettable: a collection of images that will stand the test of time.
